Welcome back to the second half of the year in 2010!
January is sure to be a busy month. We will get back into the swing of things in no time.
Where we are headed:
Literacy
Poetry!!!!! We will be looking at various styles of poetry (including song lyrics). We will also be writing our own poems and trying to make them connect and represent our lives.
Litearcy workstations will continue through this month incoroporating History, Geography and Word Study. We've been having some fun with our Current Events station putting news articles into comic strips on the computer.
Math
Grade 7's are about mid-way through our 2D Geometry unit. Please sign your students Ch. 7 quiz & Ch. 7 assessment (sent home to be signed Monday, Feb. 8th - due back by Wed. Feb. 10th)
Speeches
Speehes have now been completed. Oral communication and presenting skills continue to be an area where most students in the class can use some work. We will be doing some sort of speech like project again in April in hopes to "bump up" our presenting skills.
