Monday, Dec. 7
Text 2.2 was to be started on Friday. Questions 1-7 are due for homework tonight.
December 4 - As I discussed with parents at interviews last week, we have started working on improving timestables. We are doing a daily 1-minute drill at the beginning of math, and students are charting their scores on a page in their duotang. I am very pleased with the progress I have seen in this area in a few short days! Keep up the good work! Students who still need support with this are taking home a couple of practice pages each night. These do not take very long, and I don't mind if parents monitor and check your children's work on this.
Thanks for your support.

Friday, Dec. 4
The work from text 2.1 was due in class today. Students were to hand it in before going out for afternoon recess. A few did not. I trust you will have an explanation for me on Monday.

Re: Interviews
After receiving report cards, if you would like to meet with me to discuss math, please set up a separate interview. Feel free to email me, write a note, or phone the office. I did not think of that until the interview forms had been sent home. Thanks.
Thursday, Nov. 26
Math test today, so no homework for the weekend. However, I STRONGLY SUGGEST students start looking at our next chapter, which is Rate, Ration, and Percent - chapter 2 in the text book.
Here is the link to the chapter 5 on-line quizzes. You can also move from there to other chapters.
Wedensday, November 25

Most of our lessons have an on-line quiz you can do at home. Here is the link for the grade 7, chapter 4 quizzes. You can also go from here to the other chapters.

A much better day today, behavior-wise, after a couple of weeks of really poor behavior.

Monday, Nov. 16
Homework for tonight is page 133, all questions.
Friday, Nov. 13
We have finished the work for 4.3. The groups who did questions 11 and 12 will present on Monday. Students should now be able to extend a pattern and use the pattern to create a table of values. They must also be able to figure out how to determine the value of a term that is beyond the table of values, by using a pattern rule. More on this in 4.4
Thursday, Nov. 12
Most of our lessons have an on-line quiz you can do at home. Here is the link for the chapter 4 quizzes.

Friday, October 30, 2009 - Happy Hallpwe'en!
With all of the illnesses and the absenses that have resulted already, it is difficult to keep all students up-to-date with all of their work. Math is probably the easiest class for students to work on at home. I suggest that if you are away for a couple of days you try to at least do some of your math.
On this page I will also be posting missing work. For this, instead of writing names, I will be using the last 3 digits of your student number. Parents, please be sure to have this number somewhere close by, if you are helping your son or daughter keep up-to-date.
Our first big assignment was the activity 3.1 from the text. There are still 3 students who have not completed this assignment:
062
073
154
On Monday this assignment will be 2 weeks overdue.
Have a good weekend.
